A Lost Dream
03:05
|
|
||
We could be shroud in rainbow robes of dripping colours
Be the enchanters of a land where wondrous dreams are revealed
But still we choose to stay
Nightmare in grey
Nightmarian grey
And we could be retuning our emotions, redirecting these bad lands, lost lands
And we could be the builders of a new paradise
But still we choose to stay
Nightmare in grey
Nightmarian grey

Estella
03:49
|
|
||
I know your life is no pretty tale
Brought up in an atmosphere cold and stale
I know you had no one to love or care
They locked you up and left you there
But, does that justify the way you treat me?
I know that’s what you are… “Free, love”
And I know that you don’t mean to hurt me
Oh god, how can I make you see?
Estella, don’t break my heart again
Estella, don’t make me cry again
The way you use me when I’m alone with you
My pride gets beaten black and blue
Take, take, take, give nothing in return
Clawing at my heart, making it burn
Leading me on with the things you say
When I think there’s love in your eyes, you turn away
And I know you don’t mean to hurt me
Your love is blind, it can’t find me
Estella, you’re breaking my heart again
Estella, you’re making me cry again
You’re a fucked up person and you are wrong
Cos I’ve been alone all along
I wanted you to rekindle my fire
But the sparks you made were barbed wire
How many people for you have thrived
Your heart doesn’t feel, it just keeps you alive
Now life looks once again dull and grey
Why don’t you just fade away?
Estella, you’ve broken my heart again
Estella, these tears are for you again

Paint The World
03:11
|
|
||
Looking out the window one dull day
Looking at the outside world so grey
I walk out the door take a stroll in the rain
My eyes look down at that cold stone path again
Passing middle-aged men in pinstripe blue
Acting out their role, waiting for their cue
Looking at lovers even seems dull today
Wish I was in another world, just fade away
I want to paint the world with a rainbow
I wish everything could be day-glo
Freedom and pleasure, no restriction or law
This could be our promised land forever more
I look through shop windows at today’s technology
But all I need is my psychology
I see blank faces, blank expressions
The worn out faces of the old collecting pensions
It’s a sad, sad tale about the Earth
And how man destroys it from his birth
Cities and cars… civilisation?
All I see is destruction
Somewhere over the rainbow is a place for me
I see it in my dreams, colourful scenes
But when I wake up in this hateful place
All I want to do is change my face
Following a river of dreams to the sea
That’s where I will find Tom’s midnight garden
Waiting for me

Nigel
02:44

Nigel was an orphan kid, he never knew his mum or dad
He never got adopted cos he was so ugly and his mind was made of bad
So he decided that he’d breakout, and he did this one winter’s night
He jumped through a window, ran as fast as he could in the yawning snowy white
He had no money and he didn’t care, his clothes were all tattered and torn
He slept out in the cold on an old park bench with newspaper to keep him warm
People would laugh at him as he walked down the street, too ignorant to understand
He dreamt one day he’d change the world and be rid of this desolate land
Then one day when he was 25 he met a beautiful girl
He gave up his beliefs and through away his ideals to live a normal life
He got himself a job and he married this girl and he swore “I’ve seen the light”
Now Nigel sits down watching telly all day and goes down the pub for a fight

The Nightmare
03:10
|
|
||
Through the mists a welcoming hand beckons
A face unseen draws me on
Forward into unknown regions
One time span to another born
Treading steps of velvet darkness
Heavy sounds of distant bells
The hand withdraws destroys the image
In its place, a dark uninviting fearful space
In its depth I see distorted
Figures of my past sad life
Now approaching, then growing distant
Mind penetrating, like a knife
Shall I plunge and cease this madness?
Ending this evil scheme
Hoping this will be forever
The only time I have this dream

Somewhere In Time
02:53
|
|
||
Somewhere in time I’ll meet you again
But for now the garden is soaked with my tears and rain
And until the time comes for my soul to be freed
I guess that’s the way things are going to be for me
I know I’ll never touch your skin
Look at in this prison cell that I'm locked in
You lived in a time that came long before me
So I travel in time all through my dreams
All through the day the emptiness inside
Eats away, away at my mind
Looking at pictures that remind me of you
But those black and white pictures will never do
Lately your face has been looking a little pale
The air around us seems to be turning stale
Your figure seems to be fading away
You’ve left me alone for the rest of my days
And now I just can’t wait until I die
For it’s then that I will free this soul inside
I will enter the garden just one more time
And hope that somewhere in time it’s you that I find

Roads
02:38
|
|
||
The people on the streets on the road to revolution
I hear and I laugh and then I frown
Here comes the blind man – here comes your guilt
And from nowhere still show you’re putting him down
Can’t you see sympathy it is contempt
Open your eyes and look out of your minds
Feel the breeze breathe life upon your hands
I walk through the streets head low
Feeling eyes shoot spears all over
Or with my head held up high
I’ll look at you like a lover and watch as you search the ground
The public tears are sometimes cried
The public cry “keep them inside”
And the cripples are paraded through the streets
In cages for you to preconceive, tied to seats
Can’t you see sympathy it is contempt
Open your eyes and look out of your minds
Feel the breeze breathe life upon your hands
Open the eyes that were covered by hands
And feel my breath life upon your minds

My Faithful Friend
03:15
|
|
||
Looking to your depth I can see through
But I can’t really see through you
You never put up much of a fight
You’ll always help me make it through the night
It sounds confusing when I want love
To shout “Get out of my life, I hate your guts”
I’ll lift you up while I propose a toast
To the one who stole my heart when I needed it most
I will lay you down while I talk
You will be my companion if I go for a walk
When the darkness comes, you’ll be my light
And you’ll be my lover if I’m alone tonight
When there’s nothing much left to say
And I’ve been in a corner the whole of the day
I’ll look to you my faithful friend
I'll use you again and start to pretend
I’ll fill you up, before you go down
I’ll look at you and start to drown
In the reflection of your dark gaze
And the hidden emotions that you raise
Looking to your depth I can see through
But I can’t really see through you

To Kill A Klown
03:52
|
|
||
There is a rumour going round town
That they’re out killing klowns
Well I guess that’s nothing new
And there’s nothing we can do
I dream of a world that is truly free
Oh, how I wonder if it could be
When the klowns, they’re just not true
They’re born and killed out of the blue
There is a new world from our dreams to create
But there’s so little love and too much hate
So we must climb the ladder and not get pushed down
‘Cause they say it’s so easy to kill...
It’s so easy to kill a klown...
There is a new world from our hearts to create (in our dreams)
But there’s so little love and too much hate
So we must climb the ladder and not get pushed down
‘Cause they say it’s so easy to kill a klown
It’s so easy to kill a klown...
I was puzzling over the riddle all night
Is it that your black flag is really white?
That rumour is still spreading around my town
It doesn’t take much to kill a klown

Wild Strawberries
04:06
|
|
||
We’re living in a world of facts and figures
A land of businessmen
Who did what they were told, when they were young
And grew old
Now it’s their turn to hold the cane
And teach children the same
Varnishing their hearts, feeding their brains
Over and over again
From the grey walls of the hospital
To the grey walls of the classroom
To the grey walls of the office
To the grey gravestone
You accept life to be as they say
For you don’t know any other way
Once so young and innocent, you grew up their way
We’re living in a land of logic
But my spirits elsewhere
The world is flat and pigs fly
Wonderlands just over there
And so, this life of mine carried on
Sometimes lonely here
Then one day you appeared, and said, “Come with me”
Well I did;
Rolling about in the long green grass
Getting dirty with you
Eating wild strawberries
Red stains around our lips
Sitting under apple trees
There's no forbidden fruit where we lay
By the slow running stream, spill tears of joy
With the warmth of our hearts
With the power of imagination
Our hopes and dreams have become reality
We’re living in a world gone wrong
But belong elsewhere
Over the rainbow
Come on and meet me there

Kill
03:22

|

Where are you?
Sadie, where are you?
I need you
Where are you?
I’m hypnotised at the gate
I’m in a trance
And I wait
I’ve found the strength
To unleash my will
You lived in fear
Tonight you shall live in pain
Will you tell?
Sadie
Will you tell?

Porcelain
02:55
|
|

Romance is no more, it is dead
And the history is tearing up my head
On the twenty-third night, alone in your room
With a bottle of wine, seductive moods
Your voice so soft caresses the air
I begin to wonder if you’re really there
In a warm orange glow our shadows play
Perform the dreams of yesterday
Candlelight closes like a curtain of time
Over our bodies as they entwine
We watch darkness fall, it paves our way
We are my dreams of yesterday
To a day of darkness I must succumb
And time won’t reveal if there’s darker to come
On a quest to seek that which we've lost
Through ancient wheels, my soul the cost
They turn me around as she walks alone
Reaching up to the gods where the angels roam
Powered by magic within my mind
I banish the mask the Aquarian hides
To reveal desire, the wills desire
The spirit of life, the feeling, the fire

These days I sense an unknown feeling deep inside
I’m tired of chores and Sunday School, I don’t want to hide
In chains my Father binds me, I dream of being free
There’s an axe inside the garden shed, but there are no tree’s
This summer is hot and boring so listen to my vow
Before this day is finished, I’m gonna burn it fucking down
My mother I was so sick of her, she’d always feed me mutton
That hung upon a butchers hook, stinking and a rotten
I got the axe, came in the house and crept all up the stairs
I hacked her in the guestroom, caught her unawares
Then I walked down to the kitchen just like an Indian brave
With the scalp of the step-momma I sent to the grave
Then I heard a grunting noise coming from another room
My Father back from business, rich piggy you'll squeal soon
Daddy, Daddy, Daddy, you always pay your tax
But now you’re gonna pay with the blade of my axe
You selfish, righteous tyrant, money won’t save you now
For when the clock strikes eleven, I carry out my vow
The abuse you dealt throughout your life is coming to an end
I’ll send you to your heaven with an axe stuck in your head
